People who have experienced Covid-19 swear it was the worst illness they ever felt. One thing we see across all social media is that we are in this together! With support as a community, or amongst our families it makes the harder times easier. This story was shared on our Storyblend Facebook Group and it saddened many to hear what our fellow Storyblender was going through and the lack of support she had and how through her experience with Covid-19, she left an unhealthy relationship and found happiness with someone who treats her the way she deserves to be treated.
“I got Covid-19 in November. I cried multiple times to my (now) ex-husband and his mom that I was dying. They did nothing but stare at me and walk out of the house to go shopping. They left me there for an entire week unable to breathe. I still know today I was close to death. I could barely keep my eyes open. I was passing out every 15 minutes after being awake, I’d gain consciousness and then it would happen again. Nobody cared about me.
To them, I was there for comfort only and that’s when things started to become clear. I knew I needed to leave. I knew I wasn’t truly loved there. The disgusting things I went through on an emotional level broke me. I’m healing now – I’m still alive and extremely grateful. I’m now with someone new who cares for me in every way I needed. He has taken the time to understand my pain and even has been patient in my healing process. He holds me and tells me everything is okay. I know I can believe him and that I can trust him. He makes me wanna be better. For that, I could never thank him enough for loving me.”
